Most brands sell you a product and leave you to figure out the rest. CharmCove doesn't.

This guide exists because we believe the technique matters as much as the tool. The order matters. The timing matters. The small details that most people skip — those are the ones that change everything.

 

PART ONE: SKIN PREP

Cleanse properly. Sixty seconds minimum. Rinse with lukewarm water, never hot. Pat dry, never rub.

Temperature matters. Warm water opens. Cool water closes. Slightly warm skin absorbs better.

Damp, not dry. Most serums and essences absorb better into slightly damp skin.

 

PART TWO: LAYERING ORDER

The rule: thinnest to thickest. Lightest texture first, heaviest last.

  1. Cleanser
  2. Toner or essence (if using)
  3. Serum or treatment
  4. Eye care
  5. Moisturiser
  6. SPF (morning only, always last)
  7. Facial tools (before moisturiser for most devices)

 

PART THREE: TOOL TECHNIQUE

Clean skin, always. Never use a facial tool on unwashed skin.

Prep the skin. Apply a serum or essence before using most devices.

Direction matters. Work upward and outward. Against gravity, not with it.

Pressure is not more. Gentle, consistent pressure outperforms aggressive application.

Consistency over intensity. Three minutes every day beats twenty minutes once a week.

 

PART FOUR: THE MORNING ROUTINE

Morning is about protection. A gentle cleanse, light serum if needed, moisturiser, SPF. Keep it light — you're protecting, not treating.

SPF is non-negotiable. Every morning. Regardless of weather or plans.

 

PART FIVE: THE EVENING ROUTINE

Evening is where the real work happens. Double cleanse if you've worn SPF or makeup. This is when to treat — retinoids, acids, active serums belong here. Don't skip moisturiser.

 

PART SIX: THE DETAILS THAT CHANGE EVERYTHING

Change your pillowcase twice a week. You're pressing your face into it for eight hours.
Clean your tools. Wipe devices after every use. Deep clean weekly.
Give products time. Most skincare takes 4–8 weeks of consistent use to show results.
Less is more. A pea-sized amount of most serums is enough.
Neck and décolleté. Whatever you apply to your face, take it down to your neck. Always.
